Acupressure Points to Help Relieve Symptoms of Seasonal Allergies

person scratching her eyes due to allergies.

Acupressure is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that involves applying pressure to specific points on the body to stimulate healing and relieve symptoms.

Some acupressure points that may be helpful for relieving symptoms of seasonal allergies include:

  1. LI20 (Ying Xiang): This point is located on either side of the nose, at the base of the nostrils. Apply gentle pressure to this point with your index fingers for 2-3 minutes to help relieve nasal congestion, sneezing, and runny nose.
  2. LI4 (He Gu): This point is located on the webbing between the thumb and index finger. Apply firm pressure to this point with your thumb and index finger for 2-3 minutes to help boost the immune system and reduce inflammation.
  3. LU7 (Lie Que): This point is located on the inside of the wrist, about 1 inch above the crease of the wrist. Apply gentle pressure to this point with your index and middle fingers for 2-3 minutes to help relieve coughing and wheezing.
  4. K27 (Shufu): This point is located just below the collarbone, near the sternum. Apply gentle pressure to this point with your fingertips for 2-3 minutes to help relieve chest congestion and coughing.
  5. GV20 (Bai Hui): This point is located at the top of the head, in the center of the scalp. Apply gentle pressure to this point with your fingertips for 2-3 minutes to help relieve headaches and sinus pressure.

Acupressure should not be used as a substitute for medical treatment but rather as a complementary therapy to help relieve symptoms and promote overall health and well-being.
